Yesterday, Calciomercato reported that Manchester City are looking to sign Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso in January.

The suggestion was that the Old Lady are waiting for an approach and now more has emerged about the Citizens’ liking for the versatile Italian.

TuttoSport have reported today that anything can happen in Juve’s January transfer window and there is no surprise in Italy that Cambiaso is liked by Manchester City.

The newspaper state that Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘made a move’ for the 24-year-old, suggesting some sort of contact between the two clubs. They state that no offer has been put forward by Manchester City, but Juventus would only consider a permanent sale if a fee of over €50m is offered.

The feeling is that Cambiaso’s role under Thiago Motta is always of the spare man in different parts of the pitch. That could make him a very good fit for Pep Guardiola’s style at the Etihad Stadium.

If the move does go through, the Bianconeri will have enough money to seek replacements, as the Italy international arrived in Turin from Genoa in the summer of 2022 for only €12m.
