Manchester City are in the picture to sign Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme, according to a report focusing on Juventus interest.
The 17-year-old came up through the ranks of the Brazilian club’s academy and made his way into their first team earlier this year. Guilherme has mainly been used as a substitute and has clocked in 664 minutes from 27 games.
His form and potential have caught the attention of several European clubs, including Manchester City, according to Calciomercato.
Juventus are interested in the Brazil U20 international and have already sent their scouts to watch him live in action. The Turin club are convinced of his qualities but will face challenges to secure his services.
It’s said the Old Lady will face competition from richest European clubs, ‘Manchester City first and foremost’, followed closely by Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich, to secure the midfielder’s services.
Last month, the player signed a new deal until 2026 and Calciomercato state it includes a €55m release clause. They add the Brazilian club are not offering a discount and want the interested parties to meet their demands to sign the teenager.
Calciomercato make no mention of whether Pep Guardiola’s side or others are willing to meet the fee requested by Palmeiras for Guilherme, but it seems unlikely.
