Of all the summer signings so far, few have managed to hit the ground running quite like Ferran Torres at Manchester City.

The young forward has impressed hugely since his arrival at the Etihad, with four goals and two assists in his first nine games making a mockery of his £20m price tag.

Indeed, we’ve already seen several reports about the impression he’s made, with one this week revealing Pep Guardiola has been left ‘astonished’ by the player and his dedication on and off the pitch.

That’s caused something of a stir in Spain, with claims Real Madrid are gutted they didn’t sign the Spaniard themselves when they had the opportunity to do so.

So far it’s looking like being an excellent piece of business for Manchester City, and Valencia newspaper Super Deporte pick up on that thread today.

They say Torres is proving to be ‘historic business’ for City, with the player having ‘equalled or surpassed precociousness records’ with his latest goal in the Champions League, stating that he’s ‘marvelling’ with his new club.

The newspaper explains that while this is only the beginning of his career with Manchester City, ‘everything is rolling’ and Torres has ‘presented his candidacy’ for signing of the season.

This is demonstrated in Torres value, which has ‘skyrocketed’ with his latest performances. According to CIES, Torres was worth €40-50m in the summer, which makes City paying £20m a bargain whatever way you look at it.

However, the same institute now value the Valencian at €106m, a ‘painful’ rise of €80m as far as Valencia are concerned and a figure that makes him the sixth most valuable U20 according to their valuations.

Torres, Super Deporte say, has ‘entered another dimension’ and the value of similar footballers, such as Phil Foden (€70m), Calum Hudson-Odoi (€50m) and Mason Greenwood (€115m) shows just how well Manchester City did to get him for the price they did.

Of course, things can change, that’s the nature of sport, but at the minute, Torres is earning review reviews across the board, something the Spanish press have not missed.
