Manchester City are reportedly expected to make another approach for Leonardo Bonucci. After having their first offer rejected, Pep Guardiola’s side would now be set to return with a few extra million.
According to Calcio Mercato, Manchester City would raise their bid from €45m to €50m plus €5m in bonuses. Contacts are set to be made in the next few days.
But before the offer is even made, Juventus are willing to save City’s time and tell them the player is not for sale. They have no intention of letting him go, especially for that amount.
Calcio Mercato mentions that Eric Bailly has just joined Manchester United for €38m, and with the former Villarreal defender having proven much less than the Italian, Bonucci should be worth a lot more.
The Italian website finish their article saying the good old “in the transfer market, never say never”, but it’s a clear that if Juventus want to sell, they will try to make as much as possible as they know that City can afford it.
UPDATE: Calcio Mercato now says that Bonucci’s agent is in England. Manchester City are set to offer the player €7.5m plus bonuses per season in a four-year contract. But Juventus still want to reject the offer, which is now mentioned as €60m.
