Manchester United are ‘specifically interested’ in RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo this summer and could easily spend the money required to get him.
That’s according to Sky Sport Germany, who cover the Spain star today and stay it is Barcelona and Manchester City who are vying for him at this moment in time.
Reports over the last few weeks have made it clear Manchester City are pushing ahead with a potential move for Olmo, who has been shining at Euro 2024 in Germany.
Sky continue that today, and report that Manchester City are ‘specifically interested’ in Olmo and even enjoy an advantage over Barcelona in that they can afford to pay for him.
The midfielder has a €60m release clause in his current contract but that is due to expire this month, so clubs need to move soon if they want to activate it.
The Premier League champions ‘could easily spend’ that money or even more if required to get Olmo, while Barcelona absolutely would not be able to.
Leipzig are willing to talk about Olmo after the clause expires anyway, although they will not let the 26-year-old go below market value.
Neither Manchester City nor any other suitors have contacted RB Leipzig as yet but that could change quickly and it seems in Germany, they’re expecting the Citizens to move at some point.
