When the first reports from Portugal regarding Ruben Dias’ transfer to Manchester City emerged, the move seemed like pretty much done.

Porto Canal and O Jogo were both assuring that the defender is moving to the Premier League side, who are paying a fee and sending Nicolas Otamendi to Benfica.

Following the initial surprise, other claims have popped up, and all of them seem to be taking things more calmly.

One of the sources comes from Sport Witness writer Naveen Ullal. He’s been told that there are negotiations for the move, but it’s still not clear if they’ll be successful or not.

A few outlets from the Portuguese media say something similar, but with some positivity.

Rádio Renascença claims ‘the negotiations exist, but there’s no agreement’. Record writes that ‘The agreement is not yet concluded, but it should be done for an amount between 60 and 65 million’.

The reason why things aren’t done yet is explained by Observador. They say the transfer is ‘practically closed’, and the deal will cost €60m plus €5m or €10m in bonuses. Talks are still ongoing as Manchester City and Ruben Dias are currently discussing the personal terms, but ‘everything is forwarded’ for the move to happen.
