There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Galatasaray have now distanced themselves from signing Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, after over a month of chasing the signing.
The 31-year-old has been strongly linked with the Super Lig champions in recent weeks as they look to bring in an experienced No.1
Sabah today report on Galatasaray’s pursuit for a replacement for departed Fernando Muslera, who has returned to Uruguay after becoming a club legend in Istanbul.
After weeks of being linked with Ederson, transfer talks have now stalled due to the demands being made.
Initial reports in the Turkish press said Manchester City only wanted a transfer fee of €10m, but Sabah now claim the Premier League side want €20m. With Ederson still requesting an annual salary of €10m, Galatasaray could be priced out of a deal and hadn’t budgeted such a big amount for the goalkeeper position.
However, Fanatik have their own take on the situation, and they report Gala are still trying to convince Manchester City over a transfer fee of €10m. They claim Ederson remains their No.1 target and that former player Taffarel is trying to persuade his compatriot over the move.
Ederson made 40 appearances in all competitions last season and is contracted to Manchester City until June 2026.
