Pierce Charles was part of Manchester City’s youth setup before they allowed him to move to Sheffield Wednesday in 2021.

The goalkeeper’s exit from Manchester City is discussed by Italy’s TV Play when analysing his future prospects.

TV Play spoke to former Italy goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano, and he is surprisingly betting on the 20-year-old to end up at a top club in the coming years.

According to Viviano, the player is “perfect goalkeeper for modern football”. After relaying his comments, TV Play provide their take on the youngster, who was promoted to the Championship side’s first team in 2024.

The Manchester-born stopper has decided to represent Northern Ireland and has already played eight games for their senior team. The outlet say he could play in major European competitions in the medium-term.

They are backing Charles to ‘grow significantly’ in the next few seasons, likely away from the Owls. There’s belief he’ll have a brilliant career ahead and TV Play say he ‘could prove to be a huge regret’ for Manchester City.

Charles has played 18 games for Wednesday’s first team so far and is yet to play in the top division.
