Manchester City ‘continue to push’ for a deal for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, with talks never offer between the two sides.
That’s according to Sky Sport Germany journalist Philipp Hinze, who say the Croatian is ‘ready’ to make the move to the Premier League.
Hinze reports that Gvardiol is currently back in Leipzig after his holidays and has completed the obligatory medical checks at the club at the start of pre-season.
He is working to get back to shape ahead of the new campaign but is waiting for a potential transfer to Manchester City to go through.
The treble winners are known to be keen on Leipzig star and talks between the Bundesliga club and Manchester City continue. Indeed, Hinze reports that they ‘were never off’.
According to his information Manchester City ‘continue to push’ to make the transfer happen but Leipzig are insisting their €100m asking price to be met. That’s something City are yet to offer, it seems.
Gvardiol is ‘ready for the Premier League’, though, and usually when that’s the case a transfer ends up getting done sooner rather than later.
