Bild suggest the Bundesliga side may not be able to enjoy the services of the 19-year-old beyond this term.
That’s because of the interest shown by both Manchester City and Chelsea. These two sides are the ‘top favourites’ to land the midfielder and have the financial muscle to carry out his signing.
With regards to the English champions, the report states they not only have the economic resources to bring the player to the Etihad, but also have another factor that could favour them in the potential operation.
Manchester City signed Erling Haaland from BVB in the summer and can use the striker’s presence at the club as an argument to convince the England international. In addition to this, Pep Guardiola has publicly praised the teenager on several occasions.
Chelsea, for their part, are tempted with the possibility of Bellingham leading the new era at Stamford Bridge. The player could ‘venture into new spheres’ financially with the Blues.
Although the Englishman’s deal expires in 2025, Bild says only the ‘most daring optimist’ believes he will be at BVB beyond this season. It’s claimed the talented star is ‘planning to leave’ Dortmund for an absolute top club next summer.
