Manchester City youngster Maximo Perrone is set to be loaned out, according to claims from Argentina.
TyC Sports journalist Cesar Luis Merlo reports there are ‘advanced negotiations’ for the player to join Las Palmas.
It’s said Manchester City are in talks for a one-year loan, and the signing is a request from Garcia Pimienta, manager of the Spanish side.
It was in January 2023 that the Citizens spent €11m to sign Perrone from Argentine side Velez Sarsfield.
Even though most South American youngsters are loaned out by Manchester City right away, that wasn’t the case with the midfielder, who stayed at the club for a few months.
Perrone was even used by Pep Guardiola in a Premier League game against Bournemouth and an FA Cup clash versus Bristol City, both in February.
His performances were apparently not enough to convince the manager, though, and despite being taken to the bench for a few matches, he didn’t enter the pitch again.
Now by moving to Spain, he should get more chances to play and perhaps return to Manchester City with more experience.
