Manager Tim Walter’s recent trip to watch Nottingham Forest was no coincidence, with the former Hamburg SV coach ready for a new job as soon as possible.

That’s according to Sky Germany, who cover the manager today and the recent links to Nottingham Forest.

A report yesterday explained that Walter had been in the directors box at Nottingham Forest for the recent defeat to Manchester City.

That report explained Walter is ready for a new job after leaving his position at Hamburg in February and has been eyeing up his potential options, with one trail leading to Nottingham Forest.

Sky Germany now follow that up and explain ‘what’s behind’ the trip, insisting once again that Walter is ‘open to new challenges’.

According to them he has a ‘sharper view of England’ and ensures that he ‘always takes advantage of opportunities’ to watch Premier League football and make impressions for himself live.

He was simply ‘cultivating relationships’ and enjoying the game at Nottingham Forest rather than there being a job offer on the table.

There’s always plenty of time for that to change of course but for now, no move is expected from Forest and Walter is simply playing his cards, looking to build his options ahead of the summer.
