The updates on Everton’s chase for Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca weren’t taken with any surprise in Portugal.

As newspaper O Jogo covers the last news coming from England saying the Toffees plan to sign the boss in the summer, they actually treat the move as pretty likely.

There are two factors that make the outlet believe Everton are a possible destination for Fonseca. The first one is that a couple of weeks ago, the very same newspaper had already revealed the manager’s intention to join a Premier League side.

In that story, they revealed that Fonseca’s ‘desire’ was to work in England, although he would only take a decision after winning the Ukranian league with Shakhtar.

And there’s also the fact of his contract with Shakhtar, which expires at the end of the season. According to O Jogo, the manager hasn’t accepted the two-year offer so far, and that could have something to do with this Everton possibility.

Now spending a few days in Portugal this week, Fonseca has revealed that he’s evaluating “other invitations” during the negotiations to renew his deal with the Ukranian side.

So if Everton really want him, it looks like Fonseca will be relatively easy to get.
