Tottenham Hotspur’s Alejo Véliz has been out on loan since January 2024, six months after joining the Premier League club from Rosario Central.

Tottenham first let the striker join Sevilla before sanctioning a season-long loan move to Espanyol last summer.

He’s played 1,171 minutes in 24 games for Espanyol, scoring four goals.

During his time at Sevilla, he played under Quique Sánchez Flores, who has now given an interview to Pericos Online and La Grada Online have relayed his comments.

The Tottenham man was limited to just 31 minutes from six games under Quique Sánchez Flores at Sevilla. The manager was criticised for not providing enough opportunities to the 21-year-old.

Véliz also wasn’t able leave a mark at Tottenham while his opportunities at Espanyol have limited in this calendar year. Quique Sánchez Flores has now encouraged the Argentine to find a club that will suit his qualities.

“He’s young, we have to give him time; he has to find the right place where he can perform well. He has to be on teams that have a lot of balls in the box,” he said.

River Plate made an attempt to bring the Spurs owned player back to Argentine in the summer window, but he turned them down.
