Getafe manager José Bordalás is busy sending press conference messages as he’s linked to the Crystal Palace job.
Mundo Deportivo and Marca cover the Spanish boss today. He is, reportedly, the leading candidate to replace Oliver Glasner at Selhurst Park.
The Austrian confirmed publicly today that he will be leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season. His contract expires at that point, and he has told the Eagles he won’t be renewing.
The focus now turns to his replacement. José Bordalás was named as the leading candidate back in December.
He then played down the rumours, while Getafe’s president was keen to shoot them down entirely when given the chance. That absolutely did not stop the rumours from growing, though. Those rumours seemed to be coming from Bordalás and his camp more than anything.
Thanks to Glasner’s annoucnement, the hunt for a replacement is on. Therefore, the focus will be back on Bordalás. Mundo say he’s been sending very clear messages in recent weeks about his situation.
He is unhappy with his current squad and the lack of new signings, however, his latest comments feel like a continuation of that.
“I’m fine, as always. I’m happy and content,” he said.
“Obviously, I know what my thoughts are going forward. But, I’m focused solely and exclusively on Sunday’s match, on the day-to-day training sessions, and on the players maintaining the attitude they’re showing.”
Crystal Palace candidate knows his future

As far as Mundo are concerned, that was a ‘clear way’ of leaving his future up in the air. Marca take a similar stance on the Getafe boss.
One of the questions put to him was ‘how he is’. His response hinted he’s thinking about his future, which may be the case now Crystal Palace is readily available.
“I’m fine, as always, I’m happy and happy, I know what my thought is for the future,” he added.
“But now I’m focused on the Sunday game, on the day to day of training, that the players follow.”
