Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has spoken to the media at his team’s winter training camp in Antalya.

Gunes has given his thoughts about former Besiktas goalkeeper Fabri following claims the Istanbul club are interested in signing the Fulham outcast.

Speaking to the Turkish media as covered by Fotomac the Besiktas coach said: “I heard he’s not happy in England. He has a good character. I was upset when he left the club, but I will be very happy if he returns to the club. This is up to our president, he will decide what to do.”

Last week there were claims the Super Lig side had reached an agreement with the Fulham goalkeeper, but they needed to convince the Premier League side over the length of the loan deal.

Besiktas reportedly wanted to take him for 18 months whilst the West London club are only prepared to loan him for 6 months.

However, the Turkish club’s pursuit of Fabri was this week put in doubt when the club’s vice president confirmed their interest in the Spaniard but explained a deal would be difficult due to the foreign quotas in Turkey.
