Amad Diallo arrived at Old Trafford at the start of this year, months after Manchester United agreed a deal with Atalanta for his transfer.
The winger was on the pitch for 263 minutes across eight matches in all competitions in the second half of last season, and needs more minutes to progress.
Diallo will face more competition at United this season following Jadon Sancho’s arrival at the club.
There’s belief the Red Devils will allow the 19-year-old to go out on loan in search of more game time and recent reports in the British press have named a few English clubs.
According to Tutto Atalanta, Atalanta want to take the Ivory Coast international on a temporary deal before the window closes on August 31st.
It’s claimed Gian Piero Gasperini has ‘requested the return of Amad Diallo on loan’ as a ‘last-minute operation’. A return to his old club will allow the teenager to adapt quickly since he knows the ‘working methods very well’.
Manchester United would ‘like a guaranteed attendance clause for the player’, suggesting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side want assurances Diallo will get regular playing time while on loan.
Atalanta are not the only club looking at Diallo as Sheffield United have also come forward to sign him on a temporary deal.
