It’s now time for Celtic striker Edsonne Edouard to be linked to Real Madrid, following reports from the Spanish media.

Website Defensa Central is the one saying the La Liga giants are looking for new attacking options, and since both the club and manager Zinedine Zidane have good references of the 23-year-old, he could be their next target.

Zidane is said to have recommended the player.

They go on to claim Celtic have failed to agree a new contract with Edouard, and are now more convinced over letting him go. That’s why instead of the €50-60m demanded last summer, they now would be happy to take €20-25m.

Edouard has recently been linked to Italian clubs as well, with the likes of Juventus and AC Milan both said to be keen on him.

Now back to Real Madrid’s interest, we often point out that Defensa Central are one of those club-dedicated websites who love favouring their own side in their reports.

So perhaps the Galacticos aren’t very close on the signing, or Celtic haven’t dropped the price that much. That’s something we shall see in case the Spanish media brings a few more updates on this chase.
