Watford have been without a permanent manager since Javi Gracia left Vicarage Road on February 1st.

The Spaniard’s decision to resign has forced the Hornets to promote U21 manager Charlie Daniels as caretaker boss.

At the weekend, Watford’s interest in Anderlecht interim manager Edward Still emerged in Belgium. The Jupiler Pro League side suffered a 2-0 loss to KRC Genk on Sunday. After the match, the Belgian media quizzed him about the concrete interest from England.

“No, there’s nothing to it. It’s just rumours. Right now, there’s nothing to it. Nothing concrete has happened in the last few days,” he said.

Despite his comments, there has been a new development in this case. Het Nieuwsblad report the 35-year-old Belgian is now ‘on his way’ to the Championship side.

The newspaper state the Belgian club’s interim boss is ‘expected to accept’ the English club’s proposal to become their new head coach. Still is ‘seizing the opportunity’ to work in England’s second division.

Manager on way to Watford

This is certainly a concern for the Jupiler Pro League side, who will soon have to find a new caretaker. Anderlecht assistants Jeremy Taravel and Justin Verlinden may have to be on the bench when they face Royal Antwerp on Thursday.

Het Laatste Nieuws report Still ‘will become the head coach of English side Watford’. The parties are sorting out the final details, and the newspaper claim there’s nothing to stop him from joining the Hornets.

HLN have posted a picture of Still ‘on Eurostar to London’. He was accompanied by Karim Belhocine, who may be his assistant at Vicarage Road. They claim it’s from this morning, and handle @rscaupdate have posted the same picture on X, formerly know as Twitter.
