Takvim report Besiktas manager Senol Gunes wants the club’s board to sign Wahbi Khazri from Sunderland.

The Tunisia international has been linked with a move to the Istanbul club in the past week.

Khazri impressed during his loan spell with Rennes last season and Gunes is keen on signing the Sunderland player.

According to Takvim, Gunes has made the Tunisian one of his prime targets in this transfer window and a loan offer is expected to be made for the player.

The Besiktas boss recently lost Talisca after the Turkish club didn’t redeem the Brazilian and subsequently he needs to bolster his attacking options.

It’s likely any deal for the attacker will have to be done after the World Cup as Khazri is due to represent Tunisia in the competition.

The Tunisia international played 24 games for Rennes last season, scoring 9 goals for the Ligue 1 side.

Khazri is under contract with Sunderland until 2020.
