Tottenham defender Danny Rose is the first choice target for Turkish side Trabzonspor this summer as they look for a new left-back.

That’s according to Fotospor, who say there is ‘no alternative’ for manager Abdullah Avci as he looks to strengthen the position.

Rose is out of contract at Tottenham this summer and, having fallen out of favour under both Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino before him, is set to depart the club.

He was heavily linked with a move to Turkey in the January transfer window, with Trabzonspor having been keen at that point as well.

Indeed, it appeared a move was all set to go through until it was scuppered on deadline day, with a report in Turkey indicating that Coronavirus regulations meant Trabzonspor elected to do a deal at the end of the season instead.

Fotospor say that is definitely on the cards, with Rose the number one target and the club having ‘no alternative’ to him in their efforts to get a new left-back in the summer.

They back up the claims that Rose was wanted in the January transfer window, although there is no mention why a move from Tottenham did not happen.

Either way, it seems the interest is still there, and Rose has the option of a move to Turkey should he fancy it when he becomes a free agent this summer.
