Among the managers who have been linked to Liverpool lately, there’s been Bologna boss Thiago Motta.
That story first started as a suggestion in the Italian media, and then his agent pointed out that the Anfield job would be an attractive possibility for the coach.
Motta himself spoke about that subject today. TuttoMercatoWeb shares some quotes from the manager’s press conference, and despite not mentioning Liverpool, he did talk about his future.
“In Bologna I have all the things I need to give my best, starting with the boys. In these days we have prepared for a difficult match like the one against Frosinone, an organised and well-trained team, with strong players and prospects’.
Thiago Motta took charge of Bologna in September 2022. So far, his record with the Italian side is of 33 wins, 18 draws and 17 losses in 68 games, and they currently sit fourth in the table, currently fighting for a place in the Champions League next year.
That’s why his club are interested in keeping him for another season, with recent reports claiming they trust that he’d renew his deal, which expires in the summer.
Liverpool are undoubtedly analysing many names to replace Jurgen Klopp, and with such an attractive job open, Motta is just one of the several coaches who won’t rule out that possibility at all.
