Sevilla manager José Luis Mendilibar ‘fears’ the club will lose Youssef En-Nesyri to West Ham United before the end of the transfer window.
That’s according to AS, who say the striker’s departure has is ‘not completely ruled out’ before the window closes at the end of this week,
En-Nesyri has again been linked with a move to West Ham over the last two weeks, with it believed they are willing to make a third attempt to secure his signature after being turned down by him twice in previous windows.
It was claimed last week that the Moroccan star was now more ‘receptive’ to the idea of moving to the London Stadium, indicating a bid from the Hammers could convince him this time around.
They’re on the hunt for a new striker after Gianluca Scamacca returned to Italy after a miserable solitary season in London following a big move last summer.
They’re yet to make a firm bid, as Sevilla director of football Victor Orta has confirmed, but numerous reports have made it clear that one could be coming sooner rather than later.
AS now report that Mendilibar ‘fears’ that will be the case and West Ham will sign the striker before the transfer window closes.
According to their information the player is ‘reluctant to leave’ but the player is highly desired and there have been ‘movements’ in the Premier League. Indeed, they say West Ham have ‘set their sights’ on the striker once again.
Losing the player would be a blow for his plans but it would bring in money for Victor Orta to continue reshaping the squad as he wishes.
In fact, he is ‘prepared to react quickly’ if there is serious movement. That’s yet to come from West Ham but everyone in Spain believes it will at some point this week.
