Dundee manager Paul Harley is bracing himself for when his star striker Greg Stewart eventually leaves the club. The 26-year-old forward has been linked with a move to the Championship in this transfer window, with Leeds United one of those clubs showing an interest.

Speaking to the Dundee Evening Telegraph, Hartley was asked about players leaving the club this summer, and in particular his star forward Stewart. The Dundee boss said players leaving a club is just part of football, and is the same as new recruits coming in. Hartley believes in the long run it’s how you deal with key players joining another club, and how you can adapt, that really counts.

“This is what happens in football. Sometimes players come and players go. Other times you get bad results. It is how you cope with it that matters,” said Hartley when asked about the future of Stewart.

Stewart has just 12 months left on his contract with Dundee, and is keen to move to the next level in his career. Leeds United have been tracking the attacker for the past few weeks, along with the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City.

However, Dundee aren’t prepared to let him leave on the cheap this summer, and the insinuation is it will take a seven figure offer to land the player.
