Sporting CP manager Jorge Jesus has created a special plan for Lazar Markovic to find his old form, Record reveals.

The Liverpool loanee has struggled with injuries during the past few seasons and now the Portuguese boss hopes he can fit him into the team little by little so the player can have a better sequence.

Markovic’s best season happened when he was at Benfica, playing under Jorge Jesus, as he managed to play 49 matches. Then he had 34 appearances for Liverpool and only 21 for Fenerbahce last season.

CapturarNow Record says that Jesus has been managing the player’s work to gain muscle consistency, grow his competitive strength and prevent injuries.

The manager expects that all this recovery can bring back Markovic’s old form, which would allow him to play a higher number of games during the season.

Despite playing mostly as a winger in the past few years, Jesus would want to use Markovic behind the striker now.

The 22-year-old had his first start for Sporting this weekend, as he played for 77 minutes. The international break should spoil this work a little bit, but the club expect Markovic to be playing for an entire match soon.
