Adi Hütter is ‘attracted’ by the prospect of taking over Crystal Palace, with his management already in contact about the move.
That’s according to Krone, who say the Swiss boss is in contention for the Crystal Palace boss once Roy Hodgson leaves again in the summer.
Hodgson returned on a temporary basis earlier this week as a replacement for Patrick Vieira, who was sacked following a dismal run of form that has left Palace as part of the relegation battle.
The veteran is unlikely to remain at Selhurst Park beyond the summer, when a new permanent manager will be appointed to lead the Eagles forwards.
Hütter has been named among the potential candidates and Krone confirm that he is an option being explored.
They explain that he is ‘hungry’ to get back into work and has been since the Autumn, but the enquiries he has received so far have not been able to satisfy his appetite.
He is likely to remain out of work until the summer but at that point ‘the island (the UK) beckons’ for him as according to Krone’s information, his management have ‘already been contacted’ by Crystal Palace.
The first talks between the Eagles and Hütter ‘have already taken place’ and the manager ‘will probably’ fly to London in the next few weeks for further talks. That is dependent on how things go for Crystal Palace in that time.
Fortunately for Hütter and Palace, Brexit is not a problem as his time at Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt would qualify him for a work permit.
