With São Paulo winger Marquinhos close to moving to Arsenal for a fee of only €3.5m, it’s quite obvious that he’s leaving the Brazilian club for less than they would have hoped for.
The reason for that is he could become a free agent this summer. So to avoid losing him for free, the Tricolor negotiated his sale as quick as possible, accepting such a low amount for his departure.
São Paulo are not happy with 19-year-old’s situation, and according to Bola Vip, his departure to Arsenal is changing the scenario for youngsters at the club.
The outlet writes that manager Rogério Ceni will no longer use youngsters with short contracts. It’s said the coach is ‘very angry’ with what happened to Marquinhos, and will no longer give those players the chance of having a ‘showcase’ before moving to Europe.
The Brazilian media has been taking Marquinhos’ move to Arsenal with certainty, even though it’s been a while since local reports had an update on the situation.
It’s been claimed that São Paulo have already accepted the Gunners’ offer and now wait to make the move official. As learned by Sport Witness, the player is expected to be loaned out by Arsenal.
