Friday saw various reports in England state Frenkie de Jong is open to joining Manchester United and the latter have opened formal talks with Barcelona to sign him this summer.
Sport backed it up and stated the Red Devils have made an offer of €60m plus €20m bonuses. However, this didn’t convince the La Liga side, who are asking for at least €80m as a fixed fee.
With claims of Erik ten Hag’s side making an offer for the 25-year-old, Mundo Deportivo got in touch with the Catalan club.
Mundo, however, state that anything can happen with the former Ajax man. Having lost Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matić, the report adds the Old Trafford club will ‘surely bid as much as they can’ for the Dutchman.
