Over the weekend, reports coming out of the British press stated Manchester United and Ajax are chasing Kamaldeen Sulemana, this followed earlier reports from elsewhere.
Claims made in England about the FC Nordsjælland player are now backed by the Danish press, and in particular by Tipsbladet.
Part of their report’s title reads ‘Ajax and United want Kamaldeen.’
Operating on either wing or as a striker, the 19-year-old has managed 10 goals and six assists in 27 matches in all competitions this season.
It’s claimed Ajax chief scout and their sporting director, Marc Overmars, travelled to Denmark to watch the forward in action against FC Copenhagen. He scored a goal as his side settled for a 2-2 draw in their last tie.
The Ghana international admitted he’s aware of the Eredivisie side’s interest to sign him.
“I know they are interested and want me. But they want that based on previous matches. I don’t think it would have made any difference if I had had a bad day because Overmars has seen me play many times now. He knows my potential and how good I can be,” he told Canal 9, as relayed by Tipsbladet.
The report further adds the player acknowledges that it’s not just Ajax who are after him, and ‘this also applies to Manchester United and [Bayer] Leverkusen.’ This indicates United are in the race for Sulemana, who dreams of making a switch to a top club in the summer.
“I just want to play for a really good club. I would like to play in the Champions League,” he explained.
Despite expressing his desire to play in the Europe’s elite club competition, Tipsbladet add Sulemana has emphasised getting regular minutes will be a crucial factor when deciding his next destination.
