The Felipe Anderson to Manchester United rumours have gone quiet for some time, but the Brazilian press still haven’t forgotten about it. On Thursday, the player was asked about the old Red Devils’ interest in him, and why the deal didn’t go through in the end.
The interview was with Globo Esporte and they claim the transfer was close to being done, the Lazio midfielder said: ”I don’t know why it didn’t work out. But I’m very calm, I have a long contract ahead.
“I have a good relationship with the club and when I get an offer that is good for me, and especially for the club, I will leave, but I’m calm and I hope I do well for the Olympics National Team”.
Many rumours about a Manchester United bid for the player were reported earlier this year, especially after an Italian journalist said he overheard a conversation where the Lazio president allegedly confirmed the sale.
However, the transfer never happened, and the rumours died. Perhaps Felipe Anderson has just brought them back to life.
