After a lot of waiting and hoping they could get him on a free, Manchester United will have to pay for Hannibal Mejbri, but it doesn’t seem like that matters.
According to RMC Sport’s Loic Tanzi, the 16-year-old will sign with the Old Trafford club, and Monaco will be making €10m from the transfer.
The journalist explains that Rochild Dzabana, the player’s agent, and Nadia Zrari, his lawyer, are ‘expected in Manchester’ in the next few hours to conclude the ‘last details’ of the transfer.
This comes after the player’s family and the principality club were locked in a battle over the youngster’s contract, which the former eventually lost because Monaco had ‘already faced a fine over the situation and it wasn’t thought they could be punished twice’.

Despite this, Le Parisien claimed Mejbri was ‘free to engage’ with whoever he likes, and that appears to be Manchester United.
The ball was said to be in Monaco’s court, and we explained they could ‘try and carry on the legal dispute and drag it through the courts to try and get a transfer fee’.
Monaco seemingly expected to make €10m from the move, it appears the Ligue 1 side got what they wanted.
