David De Gea has less than two weeks left on his deal at Manchester United and will leave as a free agent without a new agreement.
Recent claims have said the Red Devils are looking for a new goalkeeper in the market, and Inter Milan star André Onana could be an option, according to Sky Italia and Sportitalia.
The former states Manchester United are the ‘only club seriously interested’ in the 27-year-old at the moment.
It needs to be seen whether Erik ten Hag’s side will make an offer for the Cameroonian. Should they ‘formulate a concrete offer’ in the ‘next few days’, Sky Italia believe an exit could be on the cards.
Faced with the possibility of losing the former Ajax man, the Serie A side have ‘already taken precautions’ by agreeing a deal for Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Sportitalia say Manchester United have been interested in Onana for ‘at least two months’ and add that his asking price is set at €60m. It now remains to be seen if the English club will make an offer in this region to sign him.
Meanwhile, Italian sporting director Fabio Cordella told TVPlay that Onana could leave the San Siro in this window.
“I think Onana will go away. He is the only one who could bring easy money into the Nerazzurri coffers, they really need it right now,” he said, quoted by InterLive.it.
Onana kept 19 clean sheets and conceded 36 goals from 41 games last season.
