Victor Osimhen’s future at Napoli beyond this season still remains unclear as he continues to be repeatedly linked to Manchester United and a few other clubs in England.

The striker’s future could be in the Premier League as the Serie A side’s chief, Aurelio De Laurentiis, contacted Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali to understand the ‘readiness’ for a deal to sign Gianluca Scamacca, who would be a replacement.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who explain the Nigerian’s sale in the summer ‘appears more than possible’. When discussing his suitors, Manchester United are tagged as they have had ‘their eyes on’ him for ‘some time’.

It’s claimed agents and intermediaries have been working for months on a deal ‘that can make a lot of money’. De Laurentiis, for his part, will not sell the 23-year-old for less than €100m.

Claims made by Gazzetta are relayed by Sport Mediaset, who provide their own take on this case. They state the Naples club looking at Scamacca suggests the ‘English pressing’ for Osimhen is ‘becoming more and more serious’.

Sassuolo will not let Scamacca leave for less than €40m and this figure would be ‘less frightening’ for Luciano Spalletti’s side. For Osimhen, it’s said Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United are ‘ready to unleash an auction’.
