Manchester United are in need of a left-back.
The emergence of Brandon Williams in the role hasn’t changed that, which is why there have been a number of stories surrounding an interest from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side for both Sergio Reguilón and more recently Alex Telles.
On Monday morning, it was claimed Manchester United had ‘intensified contacts’ to sign the Brazilian from Porto, with his agents travelling to England to conclude a deal.
Well, there’s now a bit of different news, with it claimed the Red Devils will focus on Reguilón.
That’s what Mondo Napoli are reporting in an exclusive, explaining the Spaniard is drifting away from Napoli, who have also been interested.
It’s said the player’s agent has been offering his client in England with Real Madrid’s blessing (as they want to cash in) to clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal and most recently Manchester United.
The latter have reportedly bitten, and Mondo Napoli claim their information suggests Ed Woodward and co. are ‘ready to materialise their interest by making an offer with bonuses of £25m’.
That would suggest the bid is £25m altogether, with the extras included.
Well have to see if that’s enough (and if that bid is actually made), but it’s certainly something.
