Manchester United are ‘pressing’ for Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, according to claims from Italy.

The centre-back has been a regular figure in the Serie A side’s defence in the last three years and the change of managers at the San Siro last summer has had no impact on his place in their starting XI.

Manchester United are keeping tabs on the Italy international as FcInter1908 explain the Red Devils have been ‘following him with particular interest’.

Erik ten Hag will be the new manager at Old Trafford from next season and it’s claimed the Dutchman is a ‘long-time admirer’ of the Nerazzurri player.

It is possible for Manchester United to carry out a deal for Simone Inzaghi’s man since the Milan club have made him available in the transfer market.

Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti recently met with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio. From this meeting, the Italian found out Inter could ‘sacrifice’ him in the summer since he is one of their players to receive most requests.

The defender is aware he is no longer untouchable at the San Siro. Despite detailing all this, including Manchester United’s interest, FcInter908 make it clear Bastoni has not received any offers and there have been no negotiations so far for his transfer.
