This summer is going to be “full-back season” at Manchester United, as José Mourinho looks to bolster his defence with at least one left and one right-back before mid-August, when the transfer window shuts.
The right-back position remains Antonio Valencia’s for now, but down the left, RMC Sport report on Thursday that, as well as Faouzi Ghoulam, for whom they said Manchester United are preparing a €30m offer, Layvin Kurzawa is also on their list and they are ‘prepared to welcome him’ at Old Trafford.
Revealing that Paris Saint-Germain will be demanding ‘at least €25m’ for the defender, the French outlet also throw Chelsea, who had an interest in January, and Tottenham into the mix.
Down the player’s end, Kurzawa is said to ‘prioritise’ a move to the Premier League if possible, which will suit those keeping an eye on him for the summer.
It’s certainly worth a gamble, especially when you think the likes of Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker went for around £50m.
Kurzawa is a level below, but, then again, so is his price.
