As Manchester United star Edinson Cavani was unable to join Uruguay’s squad for the international break due to an injury, he left England to treat himself somewhere else.
According to Uruguayan outlet Referi, the striker ‘travelled to Madrid’ at the weekend so he can take care of the muscular issue which took him out of the Manchester derby.
It’s claimed that Cavani went to ‘treat the injury more deeply’ in a ‘specialised clinic’ so he can start with his recovery.
Referi highlights that’s the same as what Lionel Messi did, as the Argentine star has also been in Madrid treating a knee issue, although he’ll be able to travel to South America for the upcoming rounds of the World Cup Qualifiers.
Referi says Cavani got injured in the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s why he was unable to start against Atalanta in the Champions League, and ended up missing the derby against Manchester City.
The striker is now out for Uruguay’s games against Argentina and Bolivia, and it’s not known when he’ll be ready to play for Manchester United again.
