Edinson Cavani’s future at Manchester United is uncertain as he continues to be linked with Boca Juniors.

Olé now claims Miguel Ángel Russo’s side have a desire and there also exists some confidence of his arrival at the club in the summer.

‘Cavani already has a shirt’ as the Argentine club will make both the No.7 and No.9 available for him.

No player in the current Boca Juniors squad is using No.7, while No.9 is used by Ramón Ábila, currently on loan at Minnesota United.

It’s claimed the 34-year-old has started watching all Boca Juniors matches so that he can follow and know his potential future teammates closely. He manages to watch these matches despite the time difference between the two continents.

Cavani spent a short period of time with Marcos Rojo at Manchester United, and the latter is currently at Boca Juniors. The duo share a good relationship and are in regular contact.

Boca Juniors vice-president Juan Román Riquelme has witnessed first hand the attacker’s commitment to the cause.

During talks between them, Cavani asked Riquelme ‘if the idea was to strengthen the squad for the Copa, to arm themselves in the best way and be able to go in search of the Libertadores, a trophy that he could never lift and that he wants to have at home like any player born on this side of the world’.

The attacker is giving ‘signal’ that he wants to wear the shirt of the Argentine giants and they ‘await him with open arms’.

Manchester United, for their part, are looking to extend the Uruguayan’s contract, even though he’s not managed to impress in recent weeks.

Last week, Cavani had a talk with the club’s new football director, John Murtough and Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman, where he ‘promised to communicate’ a decision on his future before end of April.

According to Olé, Cavani doesn’t feel comfortable in England and there are several other reasons that influence his decision to end his time in Europe and return to South America so that he can be closer to his family.

In addition to this, talks with Riquelme have ‘seduced’ Cavani to wear Boca Juniors’ shirt.
