AS Roma have identified Manchester United’s Eric Bailly as one of the targets to strengthen their defence this season.

As well as the Ivory Coast international, the Serie A side have also set their sights on his Red Devils teammate, Victor Lindelöf.

At the start of this month, we covered claims made in Italy that explained Roma have held talks Manchester United for the ex-Benfica man.

José Mourinho wants the UEFA Conference League winners to bring in a new centre-back before the window closes. Corriere dello Sport takes a look at the players who could arrive at the Stadio Olimpico.

Bailly and the Sweden international are tagged as the Roma manager is ‘well acquainted’ with the duo from his time at Old Trafford. It was Mourinho who signed the two players for Manchester United.

It ‘seems very difficult’ for the Giallorossi to get Bailly, while Lindelöf ‘would be available for a transfer’ this summer. That’s because the latter is likely to play less in the current campaign.

There’s no mention why it would be ‘very difficult’ for Roma to take Bailly over the Swede.

Lindelöf’s contract expires in 2024 and Erik ten Hag’s side value him at €15m. Corriere believe Roma could get him on a loan deal.
