On Thursday, we covered claims made in Spain and Argentina that Manchester United have Raphaël Varane, Cristian Romero and Jules Koundé as their three centre-back targets for the summer window.

Sevilla need to raise funds in order to welcome new players to the club and Koundé’s sale will help them earn big and ease their financial situation.

That’s according to Marca and they state the La Liga side will need an offer in excess of €60m to sit down and negotiate the 22-year-old’s transfer.

Koundé, down at his end, ‘wants to go out to take a sporting leap’ and the ‘only English club’ that could ‘convince’ him is Manchester United. Luckily for him, Marca state the Premier League side have ‘asked’ about the centre-back.

A move to Old Trafford would see the player make a ‘sporting leap’ and also improve his wages.

AS on Friday add Sevilla ‘expect a proposal to approach’ €70m for them to consider transferring the defender.

The fee desired by Sevilla means only Real Madrid from Spain could be in a position to sign the Frenchman.

From England, the 22-year-old only sees the Red Devils and Chelsea as the two options since they play in the Champions League next season.

United, however, would only look at Julen Lopetegui’s man if they cannot take Varane out of Real Madrid.

To sum it up, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are in the picture to sign Koundé, but would only consider him if a deal for Varane doesn’t materialise.
