Manchester United are one of the clubs thrown into the hat for Kylian Mbappe by Marca on Wednesday. The Spanish newspaper have a feature on the young AS Monaco superstar and cover which clubs are interested in signing him.
With Jose Mourinho looking to take Manchester United to the next level, and challenge to win the Champions League rather than struggle to get in it, further big investment will be expected.
Marca believe Mbappe’s projected price at Monaco could already be nudging over €90m, but that may be a structured deal, similar to how Manchester United bought Anthony Martial from the same club.
Given the experience the Premier League club have with building such a deal with Monaco, they have something of an advantage in the pursuit.
Mourinho would first need to decide if the 18 year old is what he really wants and needs, and Manchester United then consider whether a deal around €90m represents something they’re happy with.
