Earlier today, we covered claims from Spain that Barcelona tried to convince Ousmane Dembélé to join Manchester United on loan, but he wasn’t keen on joining the Red Devils.
The Red Devils even looked at the possibility of signing Watford’s Ismaïla Sarr to bolster their attacking division.
According to Ouest-France, Rennes made an attempt to sign the Senegal international on a temporary deal to replace Raphinha, who joined Leeds United.
It’s also claimed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side ‘manifested themselves’ to sign the African star on a loan on Sunday.
However, the Championship side turned down the proposals as they were only looking to sell the winger on a permanent deal.
Sarr spent two seasons with the Ligue 1 side before joining the Hornets last summer. He was heavily linked with a move away from Vicarage Road after Watford were relegated from the Premier League.
Although the international transfer window has closed, United can conduct business domestically with lower leagues clubs [not with Premier League clubs] until October 16th.
This gives the Old Trafford club a ‘big advantage’ to sign Sarr in the next 10 days, provided they meet Watford’s conditions.
