Manchester United have made the ‘most concrete bid’ for Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani ahead of the summer.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the current sale process started by the Glazers is ‘holding up’ a potential deal for the Frenchman.
The newspaper explain that a move to a top European club is ‘imminent’ for Muani after his performances this season, in which he has 19 goals and 14 assists in 28 games in all competitions so far.
Several offers are expected to arrive for him at the end of the season, with Eintracht hoping for a transfer fee beyond €100m.
Manchester United have made ‘the most concrete bid’ so far, enquiring about Muani’s services in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils value his goalscoring ‘power and technique’ but also his diligence and commitment on the defensive side of the game as well, something he demonstrated in the recent loss to Bayer Leverkusen.
A move to Old Trafford appeals to Muani too as Manchester United were his ‘favourite club’ when he was a youngster but there is one problem holding things up, the imminent change of ownership at the club.
The Glazer family are currently searching for a buyer and welcoming bids and that is ‘holding up’ the squad planning for next season.
Erik ten Hag and co were only given a mini budget during the January transfer window as a result and can’t plan ahead until the ownership issue is sorted. Thus, they can’t push for a €100m plus move for Muani until it is sorted.
Nonetheless, the groundwork is being done on the striker and Manchester United remain the club who have made the most concrete efforts to date.
