With Benfica known for being one of the best sellers in Europe and Manchester United always standing as candidates to buy new players, it’s never a surprise to see rumours about transfers between the two clubs.
Recent stories have been claiming Enzo Fernandez could leave Lisbon and move to Old Trafford, although that’s a big battle with no clear development for now.
It turns out that Manchester United are also linked to other Benfica players, and a couple of names are today mentioned by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
The outlet features a story about the Eagles’ young talents whose sales could result in big profits in the coming years. Two of them are Gonçalo Ramos and Antonio Silva, and both are linked to the Red Devils.
First speaking of the striker, Manchester United’s interest doesn’t seem to be new, as the rumours about Ramos have been going on for a while. It’s once again claimed by O Jogo that the player is ‘one of the first options’ Erik ten Hag has to ‘reinforce’ his attack following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
Regarding centre-back Antonio Silva, the Old Trafford side are just mentioned among a list of suitors for his signing, since the likes of Liverpool, Juventus, Napoli and Paris Saint Germain are all said to be interested in the 19-year-old as well.
Benfica, however, are set to remain tough in talks for those players. Club president Rui Costa will only let them leave in January for the price of their release clauses, which stand at €120m and €100m respectively.
