Even though Manchester United scout a big percentage of the Portuguese League games, it’s quite rare to see the papers saying who the officials are watching.
That’s why it’s very interesting to see that José Mourinho’s side was not keeping an eye on only one, but on two players in the match between Benfica and Aves last Saturday.
According to newspaper Correio da Manhã, the Red Devils were monitoring defender Ruben Dias and winger Andrija Zivkovic, both important in the home side’s 2-0 win.
The outlet claims Dias may have impressed the scouts with a ‘safe and impetuous’ display. The 20-year-old, who has a €60m release clause, has really been impressing for the club this year after taking the spot left by Victor Lindelof’s move to Manchester United. He even scored a goal on Saturday night, his fourth this season.
Andrija Zivkovic had a good game, but still not one of his best. Recently linked to the likes of Arsenal and Fulham, the Serbian winger has been calling attention for some good performances, even though it’s hard to see a big club coming for him in the next summer. Reports from Portugal have been claiming that the 21-year-old is available for €30m.
