While the renewal of Edinson Cavani for an extra year allows Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to breathe a little bit when it comes to the striker position at Manchester United, that doesn’t mean he and his staff will ignore a good opportunity this summer if presented.

Erling Haaland might very well be out of reach for the time being, but there have been suggestions Dusan Vlahovic, currently at Fiorentina, might be an alternative.

The Serbian was in fine form for the Italian side this season, scoring 21 league goals, leading to many big clubs circling around trying to sniff out a potential transfer.

Manchester United have reportedly been one of those, and Corriere dello Sport push that idea again on Monday in an article about Juventus’ desire to sign him.

It’s stated ‘there is no only the Old Lady on his trail, of course, given that Milan are also giving us more than a thought and that the sirens of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United are clearly heard’.

The problem with all this is the price, which is why Juventus would be interested in pulling off a deal similar to the one they put in place for Federico Chiesa, meaning an expensive paid loan of two years with an obligation to buy at the end.

As for the price, it’s believed the striker is worth around €60m, which would be the ‘basis from which a negotiation would eventually start’.

There would be little chance of Manchester United trying to go down the two year loan route, however, and there’s no guarantee Fiorentina would go for it again either.

Either way, the Red Devils seem to still be interested, and if a door opens, they could easily be there.
