Nikola Milenković continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United as the Red Devils have an interest in the Fiorentina centre-back.

In search of a partner for Harry Maguire, the Red Devils have a handful of names in their list and the 23-year-old is among them.

His contract expires in 2022 and he’s decided not to sign an extension or entertain other Serie A sides like Napoli and AC Milan, because the defender’s desire is to play in the Premier League.

That’s according to Corriere Fiorentino, who say the Serbia international wants to compete in England.

It’s claimed ‘barring any surprises’, he’s likely to play in the English league next season, where Manchester United are named as a suitor. La Viola hope to collect between €30m and €35m from his sale.

The newspaper states Fiorentina ‘seemed certain’ to collect the aforementioned figures a few weeks ago, but now it ‘rests on less solid foundation’ due to the player’s poor performances in Serbia’s 2-2 draw against Portugal.

Milenković didn’t do enough in stopping Liverpool forward Diogo Jota from scoring a brace for his country.

In other words, the report adds Fiorentina are unlikely to collect the earlier mentioned figures [between €30m and €35m].

So far, the Italian club haven’t received any concrete proposals for the player and that’s because the clubs interested in him have taken a pause to consider whether or not to make an approach.

With Milenković wanting to sign for an English club, it’ll be interesting which club will come forward for him in the summer.
