The struggle from Roma to agree a new deal with midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo is becoming quite dramatic, as that could lead to his transfer out of the club in the summer, with Manchester United reportedly keen.
The Giallorossi are thinking of selling the player instead of letting him enter the final years of his contract, and this situation is explained today by outlet Il Messaggero.
They say there are a few clubs who could soon come up and make a bid for the 22-year-old, among which can be found Manchester United, who are labelled as one of the ‘sure participants’.
According to Il Messaggero, Roma are ‘maybe even curious’ to see the ‘auction’ which will be formed for his signing, and should wait for the bids to come, whether they be from the Red Devils or elsewhere.
Roma director Tiago Pinto recently said he can’t guarantee that Zaniolo will stay at the club next season, and those public statements only make the midfielder’s situation more tense, with many clubs likely waiting in the shadows.
The Giallorossi don’t seem to have set a price for him yet, as they’ll wait and see how much Manchester United and the other interested sides will put on the table.
