Probably the most boring transfer saga of the summer so far, Matteo Darmian’s move from Manchester United to Juventus isn’t going anywhere.

Said to be close to sealing the deal a while back, the two clubs are now quite far apart, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper explain there’s about an €8m difference between the Red Devils and the Serie A champions, and with the arrival of Joao Cancelo, Darmian just isn’t a priority anymore.

However, that doesn’t mean the Serie A champions have given up, as Gazzetta state a ‘future assault shouldn’t be excluded’ down the line.

There’s a hope time will soften Manchester United’s stance, but Juventus have to be careful, as Tuesday’s Corriere dello Sport suggested Napoli and Carlo Ancelotti could end up making a move for Darmian if Elseid Hysaj were to leave before the end of the month.

As things stand, Max Allegri’s side are relatively safe, especially if the stories about Darmian wanting Juventus and no one else are true, but the longer they wait, the more time it gives other clubs to make their move.

This might sound like much of the same, and it is, but it had been a while since we’d seen anything of note regarding Juventus and Darmian, so we thought we’d provide the update.
