When Premier League sides sign youngsters from South America and wait for them to arrive, we normally see stories about how well these players have been doing and the regret for them spending so little time in their countries.

But that’s not the case of Kluiverth Aguillar, who has been purchased by Manchester City and is having his final games at Alianza Lima.

Last month, we had already covered claims from the Peruvian media saying the youngster hasn’t been convincing, while people who managed to sell him to the City group were labelled as ‘magicians and geniuses’.

Fast forward to today and following Alianza Lima’s loss to Sporting Cristal at the weekend, heavy criticism is once again sent at the fullback, especially for the mistakes he made in that game.

El Futbolero is one of these outlets, and they don’t hold back with a headline saying ‘They don’t want this player at Alianza Lima anymore’, and describe what was ‘one of the worst games’ Aguilar had for the club.

Aguilar even apologised on Instagram for his bad performance, and that’s the main subject of a story written by Libero.

Then when speaking of his future, they don’t really believe he’s going to Manchester City, even though it’s the Premier League side who officially bought him.

‘However, Kluiverth Aguilar will have to go, next June, to Europe, to join the City Football Group, where he will be placed in a club of the institution so that he can continue to grow in his professional career,’ they say.
